Yesterday my wife, a GP, clocked out at 5pm. Stayed at the clinic until 5:45 when she had to go to a class, then spent time with the kids before bedtime. ➡️Then she worked on her laptop until 3 am⬅️ This is not unusual for GPs. It's happening every day, and it's because of under-reaourcing #nzpol

A timely point: “Healthcare isn't a nice-to-have. It’s not a new motorway that will shave 10 minutes off a commute, as appealing as that may be. For patients, it's often life versus death, or pain versus comfort. For staff, it's the difference between doing their job well and burning out entirely.”

The Conservation Amendment Bill is not about funding DOC. It is the corporate-state writing its mandate into law — and five million hectares of ancient forest just became a balance sheet item.
