As a cancer survivor, I bitterly resent the catch all “cancer” being used as a political football. There many different diseases under the umbrella. If they really wanted to do something, it’d be early detection, prevention, and swift diagnostics. Remove MSD work requirements during treatment.

Yeah, imagine if at the biggest hospitals they didn’t completely shut down on weekends. Imagine people getting CVADs and assessed for home IV on weekends for example. People get stuck in hospital waiting for Monday to arrive so they can see the professionals they need for Dx.

omg yes like cancer is the only thing worth funding. NZ is rife with respiratory illnesses, how about funding to prevent those? you could radically reduce them with fairly cheap interventions, and that would also reduce post-viral conditions that are on the rise.
