Games media cuts have felt unending for a while, but the mood feels especially grim among indie outlets with the latest wave of layoffs. More than ever, if the game industry values its media, it needs to support them. Buy some advertising, sponsor content, purchase subs. It makes a big difference.

When Adobe asks to be added to my task bar, the only two answers it offers are 'Yes' or 'No, thanks.' Neither of those was the response I wanted to give. Where's the 'Piss off' option?

My deepest hope for the increasing likelihood that, like, 4 guys are going to own the entire entertainment industry is that we're going to get an avalanche of incredible indie work in every medium that finally buries the safe, four quadrant approach everyone has been following for too long.

I also held the door open once for Christopher Tookey, when he was film critic for the Daily Mail, and he also didn't say thank you. I remember things like that.

I've just walked past a cafe with its menu done via some AI generative thing and I went to the one next door with a few words scrawled on a board.

AI has picked up one email address I've not used for some time. All of a sudden, over the past few months, a whole bunch of 'outreach' emails appears to have found it.

This shouldn't be a 'normal' headline. This isn't normal. Had someone not quit and raised the alarm earlier in the week, would Anthropic have done this? And yet the AI Kool-aid continues to be swallowed, virtually accepted as 'it's inevitable.'
BBC headline: "Anthropic blocks 'malicious use' of AI that could develop biological weapons"

"But I find it so helpful."
A BBC report about Anthropic and Claude AI, that casually drops in 'The company's AI model Claude was also used in a Russia-linked cyber espionage campaign and by an Iranian propaganda institution, according to Anthropic's latest threat intelligence report.'

Solace | The would-be Seven sequel that time has already forgotten
Anthony Hopkins led the cast in 2015’s Solace - an iffy serial killer thriller that bears the hallmarks of its origins as a Seven sequel.
