fish are friends
Stop using anti-fish language
Instead of: this seems fishy
Try saying:
this seems like a situation in which we should consult the wisdom and grace of the European seabass, a species with which i would entrust my entire life and personal safety

Do not carry a cold beverage in their presence. Politely decline any drinks or sweetmeats they may offer. Keep a plain iron nail in your left trouser pocket and a sachet or paper twist of coarse salt in your right shoe. Enter and leave your chair moving clockwise. Follow up with a thank-you note.

It's 1100. You're a peasant in Harmston, England. Congrats! It's a fine place to live. But at what cost? Eels. That's what. Each spring, the village owes Earl Hugh 75,000 eels in rent. So every fall your life becomes all about the eels.* Welcome to Harmston. Here's your net. 🗃️🧪
Meme. Medieval colored drawing showing a figure in a small boat with a large green fish attached to his head. A second fish has a grip on his oar. The figure is likely a man, but this is uncertain. His name is even less certain, but we'll call him Yedward. He seems like he's in trouble, honestly.

Yedward is wearing a long orange shirt, and is paddling his boat across a body of blue water. There are clouds in the background. He might have been wearing a hat at some point, but if he was, the fish has eaten it. He seems very concerned, and you would too. That fish on his head is no joke.

The fish has it's jaws around Yedward's head, and is arching its back so far that its tail will soon touch the top of its head. It's fins are thrust out, and it looks very graceful. We can't really see the other fish much; just it's head, with it's jaws locked around the end of the paddle in the same way that a toddler's eyes lock onto a bag of halloween candy.

It's unfair to name the man but not the fish, so we'll call the head-fish Merwena. She was raised on tales of Jonah & Moby Dick, & longs to be like her literary heroes. She's going to eat this man if it takes all day. He can't paddle forever. Especially with a hole in his head.

The oar-fish (different than an oarfish) is likely named Intercesilly, and seems like someone who's good at sudoku but not parties.

Meme text reads:
"It's gonna be a long fall"

Three panel comic. Panel 1: in a diner, a waitress looks over her shoulder to watch a TV mounted on the wall. A news reporter is one screen, surrounded with text that reads FOUR DEAD and DEVELOPING STORY. The reporter says, “please be advised— the murderer is still at large.” Panel 2: the reporter continues, “here’s their photo.” He gestures with his pen towards a photo next to him. The photo is a guinea pig wearing a multicolored propeller hat. Panel 3: the waitress watches the TV pensively. Behind her at the diner counter is a guinea pig in a propeller hat, seated before a plate with an entire head of lettuce. This may be the murderer in question but at this stage I’d only be speculating.

From Wikipedia:

The purpose of a system is what it does (POSIWID) is a heuristic in systems thinking coined by the British management consultant Stafford Beer,[1] who stated that there is "no point in claiming that the purpose of a system is to do what it constantly fails to do".[2] It is used in systems theory, and is generally invoked to counter the notion that the purpose of a system can or should be read from the intentions of those who design, operate, or promote it. When a system's side effects or unintended consequences reveal that its behaviour is poorly understood, then the POSIWID perspective can balance political understandings of system behaviour with a more straightforwardly descriptive view.
