If the government gives everyone a $5k check, what they're really doing is requiring everyone to take out a $5k loan, which we will all have to repay, with no control over how or when we pay it, and no guarantee about the interest rate.

Devices made by the company Minut can monitor noise levels or smoking, without a camera. The ACLU says they are akin to continuous warrantless searches by the government, and an invasion of privacy.

Flew into London today, and I could see from the plane that the grass in parks all over the city was yellow and dead. Later I went out in a park and when I touched a flower it was so dry and brittle I could crumble it in my hand. We are really not prepared for how fast this is happening.
