If Netflix really wanted its own Heated Rivalry, it would be making a lesbian romance about two WNBA players.

I have absolutely no metrics or data to back this up, but it feels like there should be more overlap between Laura Kinsale fans and Judith Ivory fans than there is?

The best parts of adopting a dog are, in order: 1. Giving them weird nicknames 2. Rewriting song lyrics to feature those weird nicknames 3. Companionship

Would pay good money (if I had, you know, good money) to see this particular line brought to the screen
““It’s my pleasure,” David said, and then, very softly, added, “It always was.””

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing
Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

I think there are a fair number of romance authors who almost always slot their characters into “the one who needs” and “the one who provides.” And there’s nothing wrong with that dynamic! Some of my fav books have it. But I’m alway impressed when a book can go beyond that

As we close a Pride Month that seems determined to kick queerfolk in the chest (again), I consider one of the queerest experiences of all: spite. Excise those motherfuckers from your life like the cancers they are. Live. Make art. Find others. Be joyful. Outlive those assholes, cheer when they die.

Had an event to go to last night that had me crossing the city by bus/on foot. Saw flocks of natn'l guards in the double digits, doing fuck-all except making taxpaying (and STILL lacking representation for it) citizens of DC feel uncomfortable in our own homes and neighborhoods

Still thinking about a book I saw in a French bookstore last week: a romance, with certain chapters having two versions, one “spicy” one not, so readers could pick the one they prefer and then meet back up in the “same” place in the following chapter

I am a known lover of book acknowledgments, and I must say one of the most baller moves I have seen is Vanessa Len thanking each of her translators BY NAME in the acknowledgements of books 2 and 3 of her trilogy
Thank you so much as well to the amazing teams and translators at Alta Novel in Brazil (translator: Giovanna Chinel-lato), CooBoo in the Czech Republic (translator: Petra Badalec), Lumen in France (translator: Mathilde Tamae-Bouhon), Anassa Könyvek in Hungary (translator: Ádám Sárpátki), Eksmo in Russia (translator: Olga Burdova), Vulkan in Serbia (translator:
Elena Milosavljević), Montena in Spain (translator: Elena Macian Masip), and Olimpos in Türkiye (translator: Yasemin Bayraktar).
As I write this, the book is also coming soon from Piper Ver-lag in Germany, Mondadori in Italy, and Wydawnictwo MAG in Poland.

Of all the reasons to love historical romance, “heroine gets a whole new wardrobe” is simply one we are not talking about enough! Top-tier stuff right here!!
“Being careful not to step on anything, Hester took a slow stroll around the room. She saw fur-lined capes for winter, riding boots, and gossamer thin night wear. There were evening gloves, lisle stockings, and blouses made of silk. She found summer stoles, more shoes, and soft, velvet robes. Amazed at the sheer volume of apparel, she looked back over at Galen and she still had no idea what to say.”
