At my local retail park for some bits for breakfast. Outside IKEA it’s already Remembrance in full swing, and inside M&S Christmas is dusting itself off. Ah fuck it just get the Easter eggs out as well and be done with all of it.

The night the Glazers’ takeover was announced in 2005. The beginning of a £1.5bn+ debt journey for a club that had been debt-free. The night that changed Manchester United forever.

The whole "small boats" issue is a problem created out of thin air by successive right wing governments and amplified by a racist media who don't want a single brown person in this country. It's so simple it fits in one post and I can add this sentence too.

People simply need to go back to looking with their eyes. Make your opinion based on what you’re seeing rather than what the stats tell you is there. We’ve been largely terrible in what was a very kind set of fixtures. We might have had some moments in those games but it’s not been nearly enough.

Agree and empathise with every word of this. But unfortunately the Glazers will only go if a situation arises whereby they would be financially better off not owning the club.

Jim Radcliffe has never been the kind of man to lead a club with the history of Man United. The fact he continually uses it as a platform to share his ill informed bigotted views is proof positive he should be nowhere near the place. A one man embarrassment. The sooner he buggers off the better.

That woman Gordon Brown called a bigot. She was. She didn't have legitimate concerns. She wasn't asking about the impact of a larger population on the provision of healthcare or education services, on housing, on local transport infrastructure. She just didn't like different coloured people.

I was present at Everton in 2005 for 1st #MUFC game after Glazer takeover. Something felt different. We went on to still have success thanks to great players & SAF but there was something lost in May ‘05 that has never been found. The soul of the club. Something money can’t buy.

Not really. The reason ‘someone else’ could get more from Amorim’s squad (which Carrick arguably did), is simply because he focussed on the now. Amorim was looking further ahead. He had a plan, a philosophy for making us better, long-term. As usual, we decided short-termism was better. Here we are.

The Weekenders. Just a single half hour episode and many daydreams about what a full season would have been like.
Sat at a pub table with various pints on the go are Jim (played by Vic Reeves, played by Jim Moir) and Bob (played by Bob Mortimer). Bob wears glasses and reads a newspaper, Jim looks bored and everything is filmed in a vaguely sepia-tinted light making it seem much older than 1991.
