Saw this in London, and I love it. The bike hanger securely stores six bikes, using a single curbside parking spot. Huge help for those who can’t keep a bike in their home!

🔋🚲 Dockless hire bikes are massively popular, but their sheer popularity and rapid expansion means they're causing some issues - particularly around over-full parking bays. Mayor is absolutely right that government & DfT need to hurry up to deliver a pan-London programme that works for everyone.

Removing parking minimums is not the end of parking policy. Busy places still need loading, accessible spaces, permits, pricing + curb management. The goal isn't “no rules.” It is less mandate and better management.
Graphic advocating fewer parking mandates and smarter curb management: bold headline "Less mandate. Better management." over a busy shopping-center parking lot; left panel reads "Old approach — Require more parking." right panel lists "Better questions" about demand, access, curb use, and existing

We have ~4,930 parking spaces spread across 55 acres on the Ball Arena property in downtown Denver... Kind of crazy that this same land will someday have: ▪ 6,000 homes ▪ >10M sq. ft. of mixed-use ▪ >10 acres of parks ▪ & probably a bunch of parking too Plus, the Ball Arena isn't going anywhere.

What is parking for?
Slide with text: heading - What is parking for?

Car parking helps accessibility to an area
But only by car: which is spatially and economically very inefficient

Instead aim for multi-modal accessibility
This sometimes means reducing parking
