My pics are crude but I went to a brewery for Oktoberfest yesterday & they had this truck that serves Peruvian, Cuban & Mexican food but they had a special German inspired menu. Ate a fat split uniquely spiced brat. It was great! I took home a Cubano w/ a brat in it like a degenerate of decadence.

I might just be an idiot, but I find the whole dramatic climax and conclusion of Kung Fu Hustle genuinely moving. Like, the movie is definitely a bunch of goofy comedy adventure shit, but I sincerely believe it's also profound.

There's a line from Charlie Chaplin to Jackie Chan that's really, really important not just to fight choreography, but slapstick comedy as a whole. Jackie Chan is probably the best physical comedian in modern film.

Jackie is amazing, but my favorites aside from anything with Jackie are the Donnie Yen classics, 1) Iron Monkey 2) Wing Chun (with Michelle Yeoh!) I reccomend seeing #1 in the original Chinese format if ever possible. It had an awesome demo choreography for no reason at the start of the flick.

I think this is the single best physical action martial arts fight scene. If you remove all context and just look at the scene this is the best one on a techincal level. That triple kick in the air the bad guy does is the coolest thing ever.

We're all used to Jackie Chan looking like he's hurt, exhausted, and ready to collapse. He's good at selling a guy at the his limit. But goddamn, it's so much fun to see one of the few times he goes outright beast mode. Stage hits or no, the way he no-sells so many of the blows is electric.

This is legitimately the greatest martial arts movie ever made. It’s not my favorite. I have my favorite. It’s Fist of Legend. But Drunken Master 2 is a perfect film in its own right that also has the greatest stunt work you’ve ever seen in it.
