every now and again apple will make a photo reel of memories on my phone. i wish there was a way to mark certain photos to say “this person is no longer in my life, this pet has passed away, please exclude them from reels, i only want to see these photos on my terms.”

“change is too hard, too scary, too inconvenient” they hide behind so they can do nothing. the world is falling apart because we’re allowing it to get incrementally worse, and they say drastic change won’t work, but working even incrementally to improve it also seems unthinkable for some reason.

It's an old scam. They rent or buy the rig at a usurious lease or interest rate, get one or two steady contracts at a fixed rate that looks OK at a particular fuel price, then hustle to fill the times/miles in between to try to make a profit. Any accident or injury sinks them in the "good" times.

as i’m trying to draw a person, i’m fighting the urge to give up and go back to drawing landscapes. people are hard because a few mistakes will ruin the image, where with landscapes it’s a lot easier to hide those mistakes. there is an anatomical standard for people, not so for trees and rocks.

this week my wife and i were visiting a neighbor and wasps came up. we were explaining to them that overall, they’re actually relatively docile when left alone. as if on cue a yellow jacket came by, landed on my wife’s hand and walked around a while before flying off.

i was talking to a friend who works at a place that offers next day pay. i said that it must make it so much easier to budget because there’s almost zero wait for the money to roll in. they said it was actually incredibly hard because the amounts are so small that it’s hard to make the money last.

May I humbly suggest raking the leaves into your garden beds instead of putting them out for collection? Leaves are a necessary part of the habitat/ecosystem- they are a nice little winter bed for the babies of many pollinators, fireflies, and little creatures that help birds not starve.
