It was vigilantism. If our laws adequately punished Mr. Thompson, he'd have been in a jail cell and the money he denied the sick and poor would have been returned to those in need. I don't condone vigilantism, but it is our system that makes people desire it.

As someone not living in New York, I'm pretty confused as to why everyone is acting like Mamdani did something weird or surprising. He endorsed people who had his back when he was competing with Cuomo in the primary. Voters in New York like those people, and like Mamdani, and voted as such.

Got watch some Basho tonight, and honestly, Division 1 is full of cool stuff right now. It's impressive to see Tamawashi still going out there and delivering even in his 40's, and it's stunning to see young bucks like Hitoshi and Shishi showing their raw talent.

I'd say in addition that Ezekiel 16:49-50 is explicitly condemning Sodom and Gomorrah for their excess (primarily of wealth and gluttony) and a complete lack of empathy in practicing hospitality to strangers. Foundational to Abramic faith is a duty of hospitality to the alien and the pauper as well.
