Reports received of Swallowtail caterpillars feeding on Fennel. These are likely to be the Continental Swallowtail (gorganus), not the British one (britannicus) which is found only in the Norfolk Broads. We would be interested to hear of any sightings of the Continental form.#savebutterflies

They are the wonderful Striped Shieldbug, a very familiar species to wanderers through Mediterranean fields. And for the past five years or so, we have them in the UK in the Lea Valley.
