The frustrating thing about the Navy Yard is knowing there are great finds that you just can't get to. Sometimes you can even see them, but it's just like nondescript yellow flowers that are probably Smooth Beggarticks but I can't get past that fence to get decent shots.

Eastern Baccharis (Baccharis halimifolia) shot yesterday at the Navy Yard. I'd never seen this in the Navy Yard before, but it is relatively common along the southern tip of South Philly as well as in John Heinz, so it is not surprising at all.

I was able to get some better shots of these flowers yesterday & was able to use the Rhoads & Block key to confirm that they are Smooth Beggarticks (Bidens laevis). The other flowers in this shot are Frost Asters (Symphyotrichum pilosum), which are common in the area. #Bloomscrolling
