The sun sets on another day in #Extremadura, 37C today, summer heat. But it's turning, the #birds in this are Greylag Geese, pioneers of wintering populations. Passage Willow Warblers everywhere, feeding up before moving on. I love this time of year. @markavery.bsky.social @iand777.bsky.social

Take a 2 min trip to Cranborne Manor to look at Swifts as you might remember in some dim & distant past. This was yesterday - it's Peak Swift there - indeed some birds may already have left. At the end of the clip see how birds are still drawn to look at that most desirable of nest sites. #Swifts 🦉

I grow Hemp Agrimony in my garden as it's a great nectar source for Butterflies, Hoverflies & Bees, especially Bumblebees. But it also serves as a roosting site for them too, this morning there were 8 of them all roosting below the flower heads. @brigitstrawbridge.bsky.social @iand777.bsky.social 🐝
