A reasoned and ideologically coherent Lib Dem response to the fuel crisis would to be to urge the government to maintain Britain's EV mandate and to do all it can to hasten our exit from fossil fuel dependency. But clearly Ed has decided on petro-populist short-termism.

When it comes to climate change, the amount of money going to effective solutions matters. After all, we are talking about rebuilding the world. Sadly, money going into climate is way down from a few years ago. In government funding, investing, corporate spending, etc. We need to turn that around.
