I realized some of you might not be aware it is possible to preorder a plush King County Metro style bus Don't worry I am here to help merch.fixthel8.com/us/all-products/plush-bus
Photo from the website that has a cute plush "eight" bus with eyes and everything, KC Metro stile with green and yellow, lovingly placed on a sidewalk curb in front of an actual 8 bus. It is the most adorable thing you've ever seen and you definitely need to buy one

Note to Seattle policymakers who want to expand MHA: The most rigorous study ever done on IZ found that the typical program in CA reduces homebuilding by nearly one third. And all renters pay the price in higher rents caused by the worsened shortage. Unfunded IZ is a regressive policy.

Crazy dissonance to say 1)"MHA fees are killing new housing production, we need to reduce it by 80%" and simultaneously 2) "let's expand MHA!" If MHA is a barrier, especially for small projects, why on earth would you extend it to NR zoning where only small infill projects are possible.

Most notable thing that came from this imo was Claudia being clear what I think we’ve all known: ‘ST4 is on ice’. Basically every subarea got their link extensions except Seattle and it’s unlikely a regional ST4 could give the suburbs anything proportional to Ballard’s current cost estimate

I've been asked a couple of times if my wife and I regret getting rid of our last car in late 2018, right as bus service got amazing...and right before COVID put a yearslong end to that. The answer is: never. I knew transit would be back, and the cost savings is *substantial*.

Metro Prevails in 'Race the L8' Rematch Thanks to New Bus Lanes
Bus travel times are up to three times faster along a troublesome stretch of Denny Way after SDOT installed red bus lanes all the way to I-5. On Tuesday, Mayor Katie Wilson joined transit fans for a reprise of last year's 'Race the L8'... with very different results this time.

Last night we celebrated the opening of our new dedicated bus lane for the 8 bus on Denny by doing the obvious thing: racing it again. Last summer, Seattleites raced the bus on foot and beat it. This time around, with the lane up and running, it wasn’t even close.
