So much work went in to making this moment possible. Blood, sweat, and tears (seriously). Huge props to Team @cmeddielin.bsky.social 💖 This is a tremendous victory for Seattle as we continue to do everything we can to prevent efforts to stall housing production!

Honored to be putting my writing skills toward something that truly matters. A proclamation for Jimothy is the least we could do for a raccoon who has lifted the spirits of Seattle. The People’s Office never sleeps. (Unlike Jimothy.) 🦝🫡

You vote against transit, you’re anti-transit. Pretty simple.

This is exactly the issue. Decisions are so clearly made to suit the priorities of the property owning class of Seattlites at the expense of the working class. The cognitive dissonance is shameful.

I think this amendment would pretty clearly put the City of Seattle in violation of HB 2266, which takes effect on June 11.

This is a heartbreaking failure in the WA LEG. It would have made it easier for those harmed by negligent drivers to seek a remedy. It passed the House just HOURS after Lili Moreno was killed by a driver in Capitol Hill. Too often, our laws protect dangerous drivers more than the people they kill.

By a 4-1 vote, the Seattle Council's land use committee just approved @alexis4seattle.bsky.social's Roots to Roofs bonus pilot program, which retools the Connected Communities program that was rejected by the same committee in 2024. CM Rivera cast the no vote. www.theurbanist.org/2025/06/30/r...

The Council just voted 8-0 to pass my office’s bill (CB 121009) to streamline the subdivision approval process!  This bill is a simple yet straightforward effort to promote good governance which will shave off critical time to build more housing. We're talking about many months saved per project!

I will keep holding the line. I’m not a member of this committee, but I was asking CP to be recognized so I could ask the body for someone to make the motion to extend public comment. Everyone who turned out today should have been heard. I’m still on the dias and chambers are open so come by!

The biggest threat to Seattle’s tree canopy (according to the City’s own study) is the construction of single family homes. Middle housing is conducive to our climate & housing goals. Like so many anti-housing arguments, this too is a red herring.
