I believe fraternity hazing and military hazing and sports team hazing where men abuse each other is acclimating them into a broader culture of abuse where they will then believe it is their right to abuse other more vulnerable people. It’s so insidious. And that’s also why I think men defend it

Seeing people post about how unfair the “mob justice” against the Cornell rapists is doesn’t really move me when there is no justice for survivors. The system doesn’t work; it enacts further punishment on the victims. Society is even crueler. So spare me the “mob justice” rhetoric about the accused

On July 26, 2023, I (along with a co-defendant) was sued for defamation. The case was dismissed for delay on June 10, 2026, as the Plaintiff had not set the matter down for trial within the necessary time.
The Canadian writing scene is a small group, and it has been a long, often isolating process, as I kept this from family, friends, and fellow writers. I do want to thank the very tight group that knew and put up with me during all this. I also want to thank my lawyer, who steered this entire process, allowing me to continue writing.
I worried this lawsuit would irreparably change me, but I come out the other side still myself. I will continue standing up for what I believe is right and will not be afraid to raise my voice. With that said, I am happy to finally put this behind me. As ever, thank you for your support.

Dear @erc.europa.eu , we DO already have common standards & frameworks. 'AI' likes to pose itself as 'special' but we do not need to reinvent the wheel. We already have established codes of conduct for research integrity. We just need to apply them. See below + more resources in thread🧵
Protecting the Ecosystem of Human Knowledge: Five Principles
We must protect and cultivate the ecosystem of human knowledge. AI models can mimic
the appearance of scholarly work, but they are (by construction) unconcerned with truth
— the result is a torrential outpouring of unchecked but convincing-sounding “informa-
tion”. At best, such output is accidentally true, but generally citationless, divorced from
human reasoning and the web of scholarship that it steals from. At worst, it is confidently
wrong. Both outcomes are dangerous to the ecosystem.
Olivia Guest, Iris van Rooij, Marcela Suarez, et al. (2025, n.p.)
Knowledge production is supposed to be safeguarded by (inter)national codes of conduct for research
integrity (ALLEA 2023; KNAW et al. 2018). Such codes forbid, for instance, fabrication of data,
falsification of results, plagiarism, and, generally, distortion of the scientific record. Many argue that
new rules are required to regulate academic AI use, but pre-existing guidelines fit the bill (cf. Tafani

Big names in AI and Silicon Valley tech announced yesterday that they're launching a boarding academy for 16 to 22 year olds. (Would you trust the people in this scene with keeping an eye on minors?) theacademysf.com
Thrilled to announce our latest incubation: Horowitz Andreessen Academy.

Horowitz Andreessen Academy will be a two-year residential program in San Francisco for 16 to 22 year olds.

My biggest regret from my college experience is how divorced it was from the real world (both practically but also intellectually)

HAA is the opposite. Students will learn from real-world practitioners and intellectuals; including founders (Sam Altman, Brian Armstrong, Jensen Huang), investors (Elad Gil, Daniel Gross), and professors (Agnes Callard, Tyler Cowen), among hundreds of others. The Academy is the educational experience I wish I had.

In 1984, the educational psychologist Benjamin Bloom published a paper about how the average student who received one-on-one tutoring focused on mastery techniques performed better than 98% of the control group. For generations, this was viewed as unrealistic to implement even if it produced the best outcomes.

After he retired to the cave
prayer grew in him like a forest,

                              One day he
