The Democratic Party gets a lot of criticism these days, but it seems like they did a pretty good job of recruiting candidates this year? Especially when you look at Senate races in Alaska, North Carolina, Kansas, Iowa… and even Maine seems to be in nit-terrible shape, given the Platner implosion.

All the people going "oh, come on, we should be able to joke about ourselves". Where's the joke, dawg. I'm more than willing to laugh at a good joke, but this one just isn't a good joke! This is just what Ben Collins believes/wishes is gonna happen.

Eight years ago today, Susan Collins voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. He went on to help overturn Roe v. Wade. She still says she doesn’t regret her vote. Give her something to regret on November 3. Vote her out.

This is the main takeaway from Woke 1. You can be right, and you can be righteous in saying it, but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to be persuasive, or that it won’t hurt your argument or your cause. The key to being an effective political communicator is being able to identify that.

What about the substance and truth-content of what she said?
Ms. Leavitt, 29 and a steely and nimble presence at the White House lectern, was the youngest person to be appointed press secretary. She established herself as an unflinching advocate for the president, who gushed over her verbal fusillades and has said her lips “move like a ‘machine gun.’”

Trump’s superpower has always been that he radiates an anti-gravitas field, such that anything he touches becomes seen as fundamentally unserious. This has allowed Trump to pursue wars, tyranny, and corruption of immense gravity, while everyone tries to avoid looking like they care too much.

The New York Times has a choice of whether to cover Trumpism as A) an amusing and colorful example of the oddity of American politics, or B) an existential threat to the future of everyone you know and love. Over and over, they choose A. They trivialize themselves.

In Texas, Something Seismic Is Happening—and It’s All Trump’s Fault
Thanks to the economy and ICE, Trump has lost Texas Latinos. And James Talarico is developing a humane pro-immigrant message that’s resonating—even in this ultra-Trumpy state.

This is true of every contemporary political position: "Democrats are weak," "data centers consume too much water," and on and on. People hear a resonant opinion from people they socially align with, and they add it to their belief system. The large number of opinions you hear daily is what's new.
