I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.
A screenshot of an email viewed in dark mode with the subject line "Google DMCA Violation." The email from Google informs the recipient that they have received a notification under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that some of their materials allegedly infringe on copyrights. It explains the removal process, mentions that notice details will be posted on Lumen, warns against repeated violations, and lists one affected Google Drive URL at the bottomA nearly identical mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It shows a search for the same Amnesty International UK resources URL, resulting in the same message: "This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."A mobile browser screenshot of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Even I am taken aback at the new and surprising ways these people find to insult the public’s intelligence and make it more clear the only operative professional standard in force is “LOL fuck you”
Badenoch said: "So I want to be very clear, and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis to the Conservative Party.
"Joshua Bonehill-Paine is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on anti-Semitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he is somebody who had been previously convicted for this, but he is someone has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew he had caused previously.
"He's going up and down the country training people and the Conservative Party believes in second chances.
"This is not just someone that we've picked up who's a convicted criminal, this is somebody who is actively working to help communities, especially Jewish communities and this is what I want to see.
"I want second chances for people, for people who've learned their lessons, for people who are showing that they know what they did was wrong.
"What I don't want to see is early release of people who have no contrition whatsoever, who don't care, and who are going to be out on the streets actually harming people.

my god, this is amazing. apparently from a NY Times interview with Neill and Goldblum. Resharing with alt text so everyone can enjoy
How long has it been since you've seen the original "Jurassic Park"?

SAM NEILL: The last time I watched it in its totality was sitting beside Princess Di at Leicester Square at the London opening. On the other side of me was my son Tim he was 11 and completely swept away by it, but about the time the T-Rex turns up, Tim started to fart. And the draft was drifting across me to royalty! I spent the whole film in a muck sweat, thinking, "Princess Di is being exposed to the horrors of a little boy's fart, but she's going to think it's me. I am going to be subliminally blamed for my son's crimes, and I don't think she'll talk to me afterwards." But she was well brought up and never mentioned it.

JEFF GOLDBLUM: I love that story, Sam. I've heard him tell that a couple of times, and it's just amazing the lengths that he will go to still blame the boy.

What we need is not necessarily legitimacy, but perhaps some kind of *performance of* legitimacy. Something with the trappings and appearance of democracy, but tightly managed. A managed democracy, if you will.
Labour's Harriet Harman tells @lewis_goodall there should be some form of PLP vote to 'elect' and endorse Burnham, something between a coronation and a contest...
Harman insists that "nobody has the appetite for a protracted contest" but that a coronation will lead to people asking: "where is the legitimacy?"
"They need to be thinking, how can he be endorsed? Who can he be endorsed by? A hustings or endorsement is necessary. Our constitution requires more than that.... The PLP could vote. Nominations are into the race but they don't. Burnham needs an opportunity to show that he does have the majority of the PLP.
I've suggested Lucy Powell gets together with Burnham, Starmer, Streeting, to arrange this process. They all have the interests of the party at heart" @LBC
