Having made my purchase of this book from my local indy bookshop (the fab Griffin Books in Penarth, a top recommendation!) I got neither a signed copy, nor a bookmark. But even in their absence I enjoyed the book a huge amount. Just the right blend of joy, light and beauty - I loved it.

Has anyone asked why each FA needs to get the same amount? Why is FIFA’s cash delivery system the same no matter the need of the FA? What for instance does for example the Guam FA do with $40m? This is clearly not a system fit for any genuine purpose. It simply allows the incumbent to lavish gifts.

Personally, I think we should let every nation in the world take part. Maybe you could start by staging small, local tournaments, and then the teams that progress from that round all head to one main 'host' country one summer every four years to compete in the 'finals'.

My solution to the Balogun controversy? He can play but he must carry a plate of hors d'oeuvres throughout. If he drops any, he's sent off again. Belgian players are allowed to eat the appetisers but one of them contains poison. If a Belgian player dies from food poisoning, Balogun is sent off again
