Let me try this once more. It was a choice. EITHER the Greens adopted a slogan. OR they could have joined the next govt, where they could push for an end to arms sales, sanctions, support for the arrest warrants etc. It was never going to be both. Which one makes a material difference? #GazaGenocide

This mindset is the least we deserve from a leader. Of course it has to be turned into action. But this kind of ambition and love for the country, this kind of personal but positive vision is what takes people with you. How feeble-minded Farage and Badenoch seem. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
Photo of Burnham waving to the audience in front of HOPE AGAIN backdrop Burnham was not going to die wondering. He knew he might be delivering one of the longest suicide notes in history, but he did it anyway. Because he couldn't not do it. Better to go down remaining true to his principles than being slowly airbrushed out of history like the previous six prime ministers. Failures all. Andy was prepared to burn through all his political capital right there in Liverpool, right then. Not just for his own legacy but for a country he wanted to rebuild. It was the only way he could look himself in the mirror.
Honour his parents.

Thomas Edison in 1910. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves on this net zero business, lads
Someday some fellow will invent a way of concentrating and storing sunshine to use instead of this old, absurd Prometheus scheme of fire.
I'll do the trick myself if someone doesn't get at it....
This scheme of combustion in order to get power makes me sick to think of—it is so wasteful.... We should utilize natural forces and thus get all of our power. Sunshine is a form of energy, and the winds and the tides are manifestations of energy. Do we use them? Oh no; we burn up wood and coal, as renters burn up the front fence for fuel.
We live like squatters, not as if we owned the property. There must surely come a time when heat and power will be stored in unlimited quantities in every community, all gathered by natural forces. Electricity ought to be as cheap as oxygen, for it cannot be destroyed.
Now, I am not sure but that my new storage battery is the thing. 167

Even the miasma people thought anti-vaxxers were nuts.
Page from Teal’s 1879 book “Vaccination and drainage faults.
When a case of death or serious illness occurs after vaccination, it is generally seized hold of by "misguided and imperfectly informed persons," who make capital out of it, in order to induce people to believe that vaccination is injurious and useless.
In the trials that such persons get up
the fact is often brought out that several infants have been vaccinated from one source, and that, whilst one infant has suffered seriously after the vaccination, the rest have passed through it without a drawback. It is clear that, in the one exceptional case, some factor distinct from the vaccine is needed to explain the result.
The following facts, related to me by Mr. Edward Atkinson, of Leeds, may throw light on such cases.
A healthy child, aged 4 months, went on well until the 9th day after vaccination, when it became feverish, and abscesses formed in the finger and ankle. The illness suggested an inspection of the drains, when it was found that the waste pipes of a lavatory and bath near the nursery were untrapped, and passed direct into a soil pipe.
Dr. Britton, of Halifax, tells me of an instance in which erysipelas attending vaccination was traced to an open cesspool just under the nursery window.”Illustration shows faulty installation with no traps at lavatory or bathtub
