A country full of immigrants who have come here to make a better life for themselves and their families is infinitely preferable to one led by homegrown terrorists who wake up every day trying to make life hell for everyone except rich Nazi pedophiles. It’s really not more nuanced than that.

We're here because people like Kara Swisher (famously a WaPo retail reporter before she got handed the tech beat) get snowed day after day by snake oil salesman because they don't know what the hell they're looking at. And you listen to them because they're supposedly experts.

I LOVE how @propublica.org dealt with official comment here, editorially and stylistically.
The Trump administration says none of this is happening.

"DHS is NOT arresting U.S. citizens by mistake." "There are no 'indiscriminate' stops." Allegations of "racial profiling are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE." "The pattern is NOT of law enforcement using force." "ICE does not zip tie or restrain children."

But that is precisely what is happening, and at a far larger scale than previously reported.

Cory Booker — who is being floated as a 2028 contender, and who just the other day did not deny the possibility of wanting to become leader of the Senate Democrats — promotes the book of Brett McGurk, a chief architect of the US-backed Israeli genocide of Palestine:
Cory Booker tweet:
@brett_mcgurk

I’m really looking forward to reading Brink and learning from his firsthand account of the extraordinary efforts to free the hostages, and confront the extraordinary challenges of the region.
