it's amazing the extent to which he doesn't seem to have any idea what people want from a 2028 presidential candidate.

Just a reminder: Tillis persuaded the woman Hegseth allegedly raped to come forward with her story, and told her that if she did, it would sink the nomination. She did. At great risk to herself. Tillis then cast the deciding vote for Hegseth. Because he’s a goddamned coward.

I think one reason it’s good to have a liberal arts education in the classic sense is that you don’t then spend time trying to invent the concept of “intellectual pursuits” from first principles

It's mindboggling, especially since every single effective activist movement in American history worked with the understanding that the ballot was the most basic foundation of their success. That nearly everything banked on eventually getting votes, and the power and influence that came with votes.

Truly incredible that this is how the media is choosing to eulogize the longest-serving Republican Speaker of the House in US history, who was a serial sexual abuser of children. For all the talk about "deep state" plots to abuse children, no one even remembers this case.
From CBS News: "Former Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, who represented Illinois for two decades in Congress and was later jailed for violating banking laws, has died."

The press will do stories on Republican sex creeps, but it will never, ever point out -- much less make an ongoing narrative out of -- the fact that the GOP has been *ridden* with sex creeps for decades. You have to be blind not to see the pattern.

Dems launching investigations of administration corruption has the potential to supercharge this headed into 2028. Voters might forgive some corruption in a successful administration, but they are terribly unforgiving of it in a failed one. Trump is personally raking in billions as millions suffer.
