Clubs might sue. What about players who’ve missed out on titles? What about broadcasters who’ve spent hundreds of millions on tv rights for a product that was corrupt? What about City’s current players? What about their agents? Some mess this.

GTA Vice City, I’m still unsure how exactly I did it, likely pure persistence mixed with nonsense like “it doesn’t look that realistic” but they eventually relented and bought me a copy for an early-teens birthday I still have said copy on a shelf

100%. For those unfamiliar, Van Halen had a line in their rider that essentially said “no brown M&Ms.” It was a way to see if the promoter had actually read the contract. They had a shitload of gear to tour with, so if they’re skipping one thing, it’s guaranteed they’re skipping something essential.

Google has now renamed Lake Ontario for US users. They don’t even show the real name in brackets. I used a VPN to compare: Apple hasn’t renamed it (at least not yet), nor has Dutch service Here WeGo or OpenStreetMap. Yet another reason to ditch Google, and US tech more broadly.

Journalists need to stop describing these incidents in terms implying software has agency and intent. It does not. The people who created a faulty and dangerous product are the ones responsible for whatever happens, and must be held to account, with punitive financial penalties for damage done.

I've yet to meet a single EV owner who says they'd ever go back to an ICE vehicle. They are better (particularly cheaper to run) in almost every respect. And weakening EV targets will cost lives due to the opportunity cost in not reducing air pollution.
