For me Doctor Who works best when it's a kind of subtle cosmic horror invading everyday life (regardless of what, across time and space 'everyday life' constitutes) - ideally solved with equally subtle cleverness - and tends to fail when it becomes grandiose spectacle.

Have you noticed, lately, or noticed people around you commenting, that there just seems to be no money anymore. There's no money for companies to make the tv shows you like, the video games you like, the local diner you like shut down, no one you know can find a job. Think about that in context of

The best bit is the auto generated captions that are particularly wrong this time.
Generated Instagram Captions saying "Nah, You're on the books, Tom Hiddleston, (non English characters), I'm finally Squirtle hatching, Knell, Big as blood, die Farbe des Meeres Von Neuseeland" none of which match the video.

Love this way of looking at life In universe terms, we are all meaningless specks of dust, a brief spark of existence and extinguished as soon as we came into being I find this so calming And have you noticed how the people who are desperate to be remembered are often the worst people?

I love Taskmaster, but it has to be an exception of an hour of silliness, not the format that everyone tries to ape, and which pushes out actual scripted TV comedy.

The writing I'm doing is for me, because I want to do it. Anything that happens after is irrelevant, it needs to exist first. On the TV side, I hated Ep9 and loved Ep10 of Strange New Worlds, loved Ep1 and was bored by Ep2 of Youth, and SNL UK was fine. filmboyslim.substack.com/p/write-for-me

It's called film "footage" because camera operators initially held the cameras with their feet. That changed after a film shoot in 1931, when an operator got a foot cramp and was forced to hold the camera in his hands. The "footage" he got that day was extraordinary. That man's name? Hans Cameraman.

Watched #SNLUK in a darkened hotel room last night (irrelevant). Loved two sketches (Yoga Class and 45 Seconds...), loved Freddie Meredith in a great debut, cool on the rest. They need to get Hammed and Ayoade much more involved, and Jeff Goldblum has pizzazz but not range. But we knew this.
