Democrats can and must make it clear there will be trials and anyone even somewhat associated with ICE will face them. Maybe give a quit-your-job deadline on appeasement and give people 72 hours. I don't know. But currently the plan is to let them murder us in the street and get away with it.

There's a particular abusive behaviour enacted by both individuals and organisations that I like to call "laundry listing" It's when, instead of confronting you when you are perceived to have misbehaved or done something wrong, it is simply "saved for later" so it can all be dumped on you at once.

Dungeons & Dragons in the original Klingon #StarTrek
Dungeons & Dragons player rule book from the 80's redraw as the Bat'leths & Bihnuchs RPG Klingon game from Star Trek Lower Decks. Procreate illustration that shows a giant red orange and yellow snake, over a bed of molten lava with its mouth wide open fighting a Klingon warrior holding a bat'leth, with his leg sticking out the frame and rocks all around him. All in a red-ish background and off white text

Text says "Bat'leths & Bihnuchs" in the classic 80's D&D font, and "ghetmeH Quj" (fantastical game for the purpose of role-playing) "vey wa'"(set one) and "taghwl' pabmey'" (beginners rules) in Klingon pIqaD

There's a Klingon trefoil symbol at the very bottom

Remember April 2009 when about 250,000 people took to America’s streets in Tea Party rallies and the media was like “oh man, the Dems are in trouble?” Approximately 28X as many people took to the streets to protest Trump yesterday. Didn’t even make the NYT front page.

Elaborating b/c there's a lot of misunderstanding on this. Insurrection Act does nothing except you can then use soldiers as cops. They can enforce laws, but they're the same old laws. It doesn't suspend the Constitution. No martial law, no closing courts, no removing state officials, none of that.

wow is it possible for seven people to all be wrong about something? www.axios.com/2025/09/02/a...
We're clear-eyed: Every AI company and investor has massive incentive to hype the most glorious AI case. So the technology might never live up to its promise.

But this would require every CEO of America's seven biggest companies to be collectively delusional about where they're spending trillions in combined capital.

NEW: SCOTUS shoots down a federal judge’s effort to protect eight men from being expelled—without due process—to South Sudan, where they face torture and death. Dissenting, Sotomayor says the court’s “indefensible” decision makes it complicit in “lawlessness.” www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...
SOTOMAYOR, J., dissenting
adjudicating this case. But if this Court wishes to permit the Government to flout the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Due Process Clause, it cannot avoid accountability for that lawlessness by tasking the lower courts with inventing a rationale. The Court's continued refusal to justify its extraordinary decisions in this case, even as it faults lower courts for failing properly to divine their import, is indefensible.
*
"In a democracy, power implies responsibility. The greater the power that defies law the less tolerant can this Court be of defiance. As the Nation's ultimate judicial tri-bunal, this Court, beyond any other organ of society, is the trustee of law and charged with the duty of securing obedience to it." Mine Workers, 330 U.S., at 312 (Frankfurter,
J., concurring in judgment). This Court continues to invert those principles. Today's order clarifies only one thing:
Other litigants must follow the rules, but the administration has the Supreme Court on speed dial. Respectfully, I dissent.

Senate just approved $35bil of taxpayer money that could have gone to utopian promises to ICE, which, as an institution is barely old enough to drink. And public transit, public housing and tuition at state institutions would not be free. Like ICE, they would be (& already are!) taxpayer funded.

Lol. I mean, I guess it's true that the Dem Party is out of touch with the people. Because the establishment tried everything it could to have a different result tonight. But that ain't what Ed meant. It's hilarious to see millions vote and the GOP claim the grassroots effort is "out of touch"
Republicans did not wait for a race call to begin using Mamdani to attack Democrats nationally. Ed Cox, the New York Republican Party chairman, called Mamdani’s success “the most alarming signal yet of how far left and out of touch the Democratic Party has become.”
