Car crashes are the #1 source of preventable injury and death for Vancouverites, with the most vulnerable road users disproportionately affected. Ken Sim is hyper focused on "public safety," but is road safety on his agenda? 🤔 We speak to @cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social youtu.be/TeemN0rp950

The only thing “carbon capture” has ever been successful at, is acting as a corporate and political distraction from, and an excuse for avoiding, REAL climate action.

Interesting that they're okay with there being a different, nearby lake called Lake Superior. Superior to America? I thought they might not like that.

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

And never yield to the cynicism that says, everyone else is so good that I can afford to be a little evil.

The government should be protecting our public airports, not selling them off for parts. History is littered with examples of the failures of privatization. It drives up costs for the public, quality suffers, and workers always end up paying the price.

Talking about the practicalities here is important. There's been a ban on student personal device use in classrooms for this entire school year. Parents have asked us to mandate no phone use on school grounds - how is that possible to ensure without frankly draconian levels of student surveillance?

Yet another wild example of the pervasive current belief that politicians are beholden to current public opinion, rather than called to change hearts and minds. Some of these numbers fluctuate 10+ points every year. Why run on something so fickle?
