Zhou et al. found that phosphatidylserine (PS) regulates ER Ca2+ homeostasis by modulating IP3R-mediated Ca2+ release. Manipulating phospholipid composition through the phospholipid-SREBP axis normalizes IP3R-mediated Ca2+ release during PS deficiency.
