Information about the special issue: I am the guest editor of a special issue for Behavioral Sciences on the topic of Education for Autistic Children and Young People. I warmly invite you to consider submitting an abstract for this special issue, the aim of which is to bring together the most recent ideas and research in the autism and education field. In this special issue, we are particularly interested in strengths-informed approaches to autism and education, situated within a neurodiversity paradigm, underpinned by high quality research. The age range is approximately at 3 – 25 years. Submissions focusing on secondary/high school education and alternative settings are particularly welcome, as are studies drawn from low and middle income countries.

I am a happy teacher. A happy autistic teacher. My autism makes me exceptionally good at teaching certain age groups. I manage to do the work I adore w/o being overwhelmed. I wish that for all autistic teachers. That’s why we need this kind of research published in the journals.

I don't know if many people understand what ABA teams are trained to do. So, in a way, I'm glad that this paper has set it out so clearly. Choose kind, caring approaches instead, please. Ask the autistic specialists and our allies for their wise advice. #BetterWaysThanABA

Hopefully that makes some sort of sense! It’s part of why monotropism stuff is so hard to describe because it floats in time, and it sort of dissolves the boundaries of tasks. Interrelated things can sorta merge, kinda. Ish. Language is so damn hard.

The rapid switching between single things that looks like multiple things is called ‘concurrency’ in tech stuff. I absolutely have periods of concurrency, but the concurrent things are within the tunnel state. The tunnel is the monotropic bit, the interest is broader than a specific task.

If you are on Instagram and you are interested in harm in therapy, Natalie Russ is an important follow. This is an important fact for anyone working with harmed clients or involved in complaints processes.
Natalie Russ account saying 'a quick reminder for therapists. There is nothing that makes therapists inherently more credible than clients. If you tend to assume that the therapist's accounting of what transacted in the therapy is more reliable than the client's, that needs to be examined.
