It’s not a suprise as there’s a huge amount of neurodivergent folks in the kink community. Or to put it another way, neurodivergent sex is often called kink by neurotypical people… But clothing is clothing. For me it’s just my regular PJs & tshirts. Bright, cute, fun & sensory heaven. :)

Still makes me giggle a lot that the very best sensory clothing I’ve worn… … comes from a random kink company… not a ‘special needs’ supplier. ODU onesies and PJs pretty much doubled my sleep quality. Good materials, perfect fit and just the right amount of squeeze. onesiesdownunder.com/en-gb

Been relearning a whole bunch of database optimisation stuff while building my Bluesky client thingy :) It’s really satisfying when I make a few tweaks & stuff gets 10-20x faster… The data grows pretty quickly too. About 4 million posts & about a million images tagged in just over 3 months!

Another thought on this one is the hidden energy expended is rarely appreciated by other folks. As a kid, I often spent vast amount of energy on little things like shoes, complex uniform, getting places safely & handling loud environments. Grown ups congratulating me on it would have helped a lot.

This x100. It was a challenge for a really long part of my life. These days I do laces once & slip shoes on & off :) I wish I’d been able to learn about energy accounting / spoon theory way earlier. Some stuff is ‘normal’ but just not worth the huge amount of energy it takes for me to do it.

I see this a lot with things like coercion. Being in a situation where we don’t feel safe enough to say no. Super common in neurodivergent community to find ourselves in situations where we’re manipulated into things we don’t want. It can take a long time to come to terms with it & name it as SA.

Some of this series will have lighter episodes but I am trying to make conversations about important subjects - abuse, mental health, bigotry etc which are not sensationalised though we will also deal with love and creativity

My custom local agentic tools have a lot of little wins which don’t seem like much but add up to a huge accessibility impact. Today’s example… building a tiny custom content editor for some config files we use… Built with the exact accessibility features i need & optimised for my specific phone :)

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

Skydivers alert emergency crews, assist after plane crashes near East Troy airport
Four people were aboard the single-engine plane when it went down in a cornfield near Carvers School Road in East Troy at about 1:30 p.m.

I’ve been slowly working on my own custom Bluesky client. It’s read only, very basic & visual first. Sorta like instagram. My favourite feature is a little scanner that keeps images of gore & violence off my feed It also blocks reposts unless i enable them for someone Makes Bluesky way nicer :)

This pretty brutal. One of the base rules I have for using Hermes is to assume it’s an insecure & hostile environment. It sits on dedicated hardware, has named accounts with defined limits & no access to root Even then, I don’t trust it with anything sensitive. It’s not ready for mass adoption

There’s a deep nerdy joy when something I’ve built scales up and all the tasks fan out and run in parallel :) I built my own task distribution & scheduling tool for a project and it just passed a million completed tasks. It’s about four times as fast wirh the same hardware as a month ago :)

From what’s published about the SMART system it’s ‘AI’ in the same way the weather app is. It’s using amachine learning tools to glue together a lot of data & identify potential issues, then a schedular to suggest resolutions. This is pretty standard tech really. It’s not ‘AI ATC’. Just a tool.

Sometimes the small wins really add up. I sat in the blue chair all day yesterday and i didn’t get crazy sore :) 5-6 weeks of being exceptionally careful with my seating / positioning and injury management paying off. It sucks I managed to hurt myself again, but the recovery is going well.

This seems like a fundamental baseline. There should be exceptions for disabled folks where they are acting as an accessibility tool… Such a dangerous technology. Glad to see it’s not getting a free pass.

Really impressed with this little thing :) It’s been buzzing along tagging all the photos in my giant photo backlog. Finding all my bike pics, adventure photos and whatnot :) It’s doing ~35 images a minute for basically the same power my gaming PC idles at… Clever helpful little box :)
Screenshot from Jamie’s energy monitoring app. It shows info cards for two computers.

Card one is Jamie’s ‘Gaming PC’ in the playroom. The picture shows a black open test bench on an Ikea bookcase. It’s currently idle and using 96.6w of power.

The second is Jamie’s BlueyBox in the bedroom. It’s a DIY computer built in a plastic Bluey storage tub sat on an Ikea cube shelf. It’s using 105.1w of power.. but it’s running full power analysing Jamie’s photos for him.

With AGI overwhelming the news again, I repeat: There is no path to intelligence via LLM. But an LLM botnet choking the internet, or someone using a local model to attack aging infrastructure, are both real risks and too late to prevent. Pay no attention to the bogeymen, the harm is here today.

I built a thing!! Meet the BlueyBox. A cute little shelf sized 1080p gaming PC for my bedroom :) We built it from the HP mini server. Trimmed the case down, added a super small graphics card & then worked out how to fit it in the box. Runs with the lid on but gets warm, will debug that today :)

Injury stuff is improving nicely. Now we’ve got the ‘flat by 7:30pm’ routine in place it’s working well. 10-12 hours flat every night is hard but effective Slowly more able to sit on things. Sitting down for food in town has been good. Short car journeys are doable. Just gotta keep at it :)

The whole situation is shocking… well not that shocking… OpenAI have already shown themselves to be ethically void many times before. It’s not even a new low. One of the reasons I build my tools around local AI is the privacy aspect. No one can train or expose the data that flows through the system

This is what happened to me. I had my injury when I was 32. I thought I’d reached the peak of my life & future wouldn’t be as good. It only took about 2 years for my post injury life to be better than my pre-injury life. 37 now & thriving in ways I’d never have imagined 5 years ago :)

The image is of a four panel comic.
The title above the first two panels reads, "Dog Toys".
The first panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, holding a bone shaped dog toy. She says, "Look!"
The second panel shows a dog wagging its tail. There is a speech bubble leading back to Sarah saying "It squeaks!"
The title above the last two panels reads, "Cat Toys".
In panel three we see Sarah again. She says "Come, child."
Panel four shows a cat raising its paws in glee. We see Sarah's hands holding cat nip. We see a speech bubble leading back to Sarah saying "It is time to do drugs".

And now, it's happening nationwide.”

This guy wanted to charge the ICE cop who blindly fired his gun into a house with a child inside, then lied to justify the shooting. DHS also tried to deport a witness, and publicly slandered the man who was shot. Trump's people blocked the prosecution, then fired the prosecutor for going public.

Not sure what is says about me… but the more I lobotomise my coding model… the more it codes like me. My code style is painfully, painfully simple. I don’t use any super complex patterns and most of my code is really mundane and boring. I’ve reduced it down 75% (16bit to 4bit) & it works great.
