When I was a kid, other kids, teachers & other kid's parents identified that I was "weird." But kids are weird & I was maybe just a bit weirder than most. As an adult, a few neurodivergent people suggested to me that I might be neurodivergent or explicitly that I might have ADHD. I laughed it off. 🧵

As explained in this article, Uta Frith doesn’t accept the concept of Autistic masking because the exhaustion which follows can be explained by many different things. Again, the way society accepts exhaustion as normal is partly why neurodivergent people are dismissed as fakers.

ASMIRT 2026 has been amazing and an awful lot to take in. 4 days, 3 talks, 3 social events, an interview and a podcast. The highlight was always going to be the people. Meeting so many new inspirational radiographers and finally meeting faces I'd only known online.

Today was my first day in around 4 years of not taking any Elvanse and god it sucked. It felt like trying to run with a backpack full of bricks. It was just a day of waiting to go back to bed. I got nothing done and didn’t enjoy doing nothing neither.

2025 has been a year of starting my PhD, giving talks, putting my values into action with participatory research, and balancing clinical and academic work. Busy, demanding but ultimately deeply rewarding. I’m so grateful to those who supported me. Wishing you all good health and happiness in 2026.
