When abuse or harassment happens it creates work and a resource drain - logging the incident, informing police, screenshots and writing up exactly who what and where. This is cutting into my lunchbreak at my regular job I have on top of being a candidate.

Cory's piece on IP is very thoughtful and shows how to push back. "The most valuable things in the world aren't property, and describing them as property would cheapen them. Human beings aren't property. The fact that we're not property doesn't mean we're worthless, it means we're priceless."

Ben Thomas prior press secretary to the National Party & current political editor of the National Business Review doesn't know how to search/read Hansard but I, a 63 yr old school drop out ex cleaner managed? Ben Thomas either has a bad case of selective framing or is a lazy researcher #nzpol
This image is a screenshot of an official New Zealand Hansard transcript detailing an oral question-and-answer session between members of Parliament.Transcript Text Header: Oral Question 2: Prime Minister Asked by:
Rt Hon CHRIS HIPKINS
Answered by: Rt Hon CHRISTOPHER LUXON

Rt Hon CHRISTOPHER LUXON: The Deputy Prime Minister, with all respect, doesn't speak for the National Party.

Rt Hon Chris Hipkins:
When real wages have fallen, power prices have gone up, insurance prices have gone up, rates have gone up, insurance has gone up—all by more than 20 percent, under his leadership, in just the last two years—will he now admit that the cost of living crisis is not only not over; it's getting worse under his leadership?

Rt Hon CHRISTOPHER LUXON: What I'd say, again—you know, cry me a river. But I'd say if that member was serious about supporting people, why didn't you support tax relief for the first time for working New Zealanders? Why don't you come out and support a council rates cap? Why don't you come out and support structural separation for supermarkets? No idea.

*** Just remembering that the tax relief National gave didn't amount to much and only applied to working families and gave more to those on higher wages than lower wages.
The council caps will result in less services for communities and individuals, services like access to public swimming pools, libraries and mobile libraries, etc
Structural separation of supermarkets that National have promised to ONLY RESEARCH if elected back in unlike the changes proposed by Labour or the Greens.
