really frustrated by the number of elder bigots across nz media and commentary, and the acceleration of *most* of the younger reporters to mirror their forebears doesn't matter if 'the industry is just like that' or 'we need clicks', it's repugnant and individuals CAN actually stand up against it

Like, if I was an outrage kind of guy, I’d probably focus on the only negative GDP growth in the OECD, not being able to get a boat between the islands, the complete collapse of our healthcare system, or maybe the openly fascist advertisements from coalition partners in the papers today.

At the moment the only party demonstrating both an awareness of the situation people find themselves in, and a credible economic pathway out of that situation is the Green Party. Labour's tinkering around the edges of what they will inherit from National won't shift the dial much (if at all)

Has Hager been interviewed by anyone in RNZ yet? A simple search on the RNZ app suggests that they've published pieces quoting Luxon, Williams, and Farrar, but not actually interviewed Hager to get their own take on it. So much for Both Sides...

The afterword to Dirty Work gives an explanation for the poor media coverage, particularly at RNZ - Hager explicitly calls out their collusion with TPU et al and makes clear suggestions for RNZ to improve. Unsurprising but disappointing to see it fall on closed ears
