Wouldn’t disagree with much that Burnham said today in what was an excellent speech. But… 90% of the substance is focused on England catching up with Scotland (Bus fares, rail nationalisation, water in public control, free social care and PR in elections). Not much for Scotland except Unionism!

Most of Burnham's promises were for policies to be introduced after the next GE, the national care service, reform of the voting system, closer ties with the EU, all put off until after the next GE - political code for ‘never’. It was a very traditional Labour speech, the jam is always tomorrow.

More "balance" crap from the BBC. It's well known now that 20mph: Reduces pollution. Reduces collisions and casualty rates as well as deaths. Reduces insurance costs. But they "balance" against some impatient drivers who "get frustrated". That's just bad driving. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
