Chinese Govt owned Syngenta to cease operations at Grangemouth, 400 jobs at risk. Previously oil refinery closed. England-based British Steel rescued. What would govt do now? UK govts oppose state ownership but let foreign govts own infrastructure. Why? Any industrial strategy?

I notice the media is pitching that the notion that Zionism equates to racism is ‘controversial’. Zionism is objectively racist and exclusionary at its core. Maybe the media should ponder whether slaughtering children, bulldozing homes & ethnically cleansing historic communities is controversial.

How many times over the years has Scotland been told by Westminster it can't have the X it's been arguing for only to see England soon after using exactly the same arguments for Y for England and it being presented as not only reasonable but convincing?

It’s quite galling seeing so many Labour MPs from Scotland frothing about Burnham’s ‘progressive defence of the union’. He did no such thing. His point was about social mobility and welfare, nothing to do with the union. The same MPs were cheerleaders for Starmer’s wishy-washy pish last year.

Wouldn’t disagree with much that Burnham said today in what was an excellent speech. But… 90% of the substance is focused on England catching up with Scotland (Bus fares, rail nationalisation, water in public control, free social care and PR in elections). Not much for Scotland except Unionism!

Since 2014, 815,000 people have become old enough to vote. Added to the 574,000 people still living who didn’t vote in 2014, that amounts to 30% of the current electorate. They would like a say! #indyref2

I’ve added more data looking at Yes support among those who didn’t vote in the 2014 #indyref. It has climbed from just over 50% in 2018 to 70% this month. Worth also noting that, while in 2018 this group made up just 4% of voters, they now make up around 27%.

Capitalism is built on exploitation. Each level profits by exploiting the level below. Those at the bottom are the most exploited. Trade Unions were set up to address this exploitation. If you’re not a Trade Union member the chances are that you’re being exploited.

2 stats from the previous Norstat #indyref2 poll in May that should make unionist teeth chatter: Unweighted figures: ➡️ Yes 60%, No 40% Those who did not vote in 2014: ➡️ Yes 70%, No 30% That’s why weighting is so important.

It would be great if someone who has the ear of @believeinscotland.bsky.social could ask them to stop doing the unionists job for them. Support for independence is not 52%. This poll is very likely weighted to 2014 vote, and therefore highly skewed. Ditch the No voter resurrection cult.

I think the UK Labour Party are just going to give up and let Scotland be independent at this rate. I don’t think they mean to, they’re just too inept to come up with a coherent strategy. If @johnswinney.bsky.social plays his cards right and keeps the pressure up, we could get some real progress.

Pro-independence organisations like @believeinscotland.bsky.social need to commission credible #indyref2 polls that don’t weight by 2014 vote. Unionist funded polls dominate the agenda, yet without that skewed weighting, Yes has led for nearly 3 years.
