Despite what many folks falsely said, research on the pandemic was rock solid: COVID studies were more likely to use stronger designs, larger samples, justify their sample sizes based on power analysis, pre-register their hypotheses and analysis plans + make their data, materials & code available!

One reviewer said my manuscript submitted to an interdisciplinary journal reads like an "economist's fantasy about social relations". I'm not sure if this was an economist's critique of fantasies or a sociologist's critique of economists. Either way, I take it.

4/ First, at every career age, we find that women are more likely to leave than men 👉 gender parity at hiring won’t persist. These empirical rates imply a hypothetical 50-50 cohort would fall to 40% women over 35 yrs — both hiring and retention are critical for achieving parity.
