Good article, but I think we're missing a piece. Part of the issue for me it's the absence of alternatives. When a child needs a device to stay in touch with a friend, removing the device creates isolation. We can't just set time limits for screentime without designing offline social opportunities.

I developed FOJI around the mid to late 10s, probably because the algorithm completely gutted my reach on Facebook, making me invisible for my friends. On top of that, I'm rarely one who speaks his mind, and that's a problem. Let's try changing that.

I've been perplexed by the reaction of many psychotherapists to the debunking of Polyvagal Therapy. Many seem unwilling to abandon the theory because, they say, it remains a useful explanation of how people function and allows for therapeutic interventions that remain useful.
