I've reached the "Indiana Jones shooting the guy with the sword" point of political discourse Where you realize how much time & energy it's gonna take to deal with a scumbag who's financially incentivized to never ever change their mind and think "...shooting them WOULD solve a lot of problems"

that whole "oh honey if that cat didn't like it, they'd let you know 😂😂" shit I keep seeing kinda sucks? Like I get it to some degree, but it ultimately results in you telling people to ignore every body language cue a cat is giving off right up until it finally freaks the fuck out

Damn. Danny Trejo is starring in Ben Shapiro's new pro-ICE movie. Damn, guess Danny Trejo is dead to me now. Guess this is the spiritual death of Danny Trejo in my mind and heart. Damn.

I'm obsessed with english being such a jimmyrigged language. You can throw whatever together & make it work. The phrase "long time no see" is from Chinese immigrants just winging English & Americans were like "You know what, that kinda fucks"

oh good, there's a new conspiracy theory that The Jewish Elites™ had Primetime made to demonize pedophile hunters/make pedos sympathetic. Everything feels fine and safe.

there are so many cultures with a magical being that snatches babies away to take them to a fairy realm and I like that a bunch of women who most likely just threw their baby down a well all landed on "damn you'll never believe what just happened, a little guy took them"

if I could bottle the feeling of people saying "do you have social media, I couldn't find you" and sell it, I'd be filthy rich. Put that shit in a caulking gun and inject it straight into my carotid artery, love it.

Palantir shifting from hiring only "Ivy or Ivy-equivalent" degrees to hiring only out of high school is an admission that "training" and "talent" were never factors at all. They were looking for packaging & prestige, and now they're looking for ignorance & impressionability.
Tech companies launching their own programs to train grads because they ‘can’t rely’ on Ivy Leagues
By Lydia Moynihan
Published Oct. 1, 2026, 6:00 a.m. ETAs the university system increasingly becomes a wildly expensive bastion of anti-Western sentiment, key figures in Silicon Valley are betting on alternatives to higher education. They argue that even the Ivy League is no longer producing the best candidates — nor are they even accepting some of the most qualified students.

“It used to be the case that you could rely on somebody who went to an Ivy or Ivy-equivalent to be top notch,” said Jordan Hirsch, who runs Palantir’s semester-long intensive Meritocracy Fellowship, which accepts high school graduates.“But that’s not the case anymore… we suspected that there was a lot of talent being missed.”

I hate when an ER nurse asks you to rate your pain and when you say "I dunno, I have no frame of reference, what even is a 6, it's whatever number 'bad' is", they look at you like you're being an asshole As if that isn't the most obvious complaint about the most bullshit scale in modern medicine

I think people's refusal to recognize that weed can be addictive is partly about the fact it'd require them to admit "weed can be addictive bc anything enjoyable can be addictive, that doesn't make it inherently bad", and if thats true then it means it also applies to more stigmatized drugs

I tried giving anime another go, thinking Jujutsu Kaisen might be good, and like...fuck, man, I can't get past how much I hate anime humor. I'm 6mins in and I'm already pissed off. I've given ~30 animes a try so far and only enjoyed one, I think I have to give up. It's not gonna happen.

"why don't women report rapes"
Tmz tweets "cornell gang rape accusers seeks to keep her identity secret, fears retribution"

Someone retweets with the caption "the world needs to know who this lying whore is so she can never get a husband"

And someone replies "no why they need to know who she is so she can't get prosecuted and fucking jailed. They do not deserve to be free"

someone's going to argue that frats provide a sense of brotherhood, but its genuinely just that I Think You Should Leave skit about the guy who has to pay to be part of a friend group that bullies him So that, but with an added layer of physical and sexual assault.
still of the I Think You Should Leave sketch about a man named Stuart who has to pay to be a part of a friend group that bullies him where Tim Robinsons character asks another off-screen character "How would you like 200 friends"

shutting down frat houses won't end rape culture, but it will disorganize a lot of rapists, and i think that's probably worth doing if only to destabilize what is apparently an ecology of organizations that functionally exist to rape women per the whole "purpose of a system is what it does" insight.

right because exposing a rape victims identity wouldn't immediately lead to people hunting down her phone number, address, etc. How is it in the "publics interest", what does the public actually gain from that besides the means to hunt down & harass a victim. You transparent hack.

Michael Tracey is actively attempting to dox Jane Doe in the Cornell 7 rape case
Michael Tracey : If you happen to know who this Cornell "Jane Doe" is, get in touch and I would be happy to publish her name and identifying information. And yes -- this is 100% permitted under the First Amendment, whatever threats or emotional blackmail people might want to deploy"Report" me for what, exactly? Save your breath, scumbag. Sorry you hate the First Amendment so much. Her identity is obviously newsworthy at this point, and I will take extreme pleasure in reporting it. (Not "doxing" -- that's a total canard)

There's something so surreal in the size of the gulf between Cornell's reaction to the 7 rapists (make 5 of them write essays, expell 2) and my reaction (kill them. just fuckin...shoot them)

One of the weirdest internet phenomenons is complaining that a post is "US centric" just bc an American is talking about US culture. Like, well, 90% of the people I interact with are Americans as I am an American on the US side of the internet, sorry I did not specify "--And also Felix from Germany"

one of my pet peeves is "people only cared about the holocaust bc the victims were white" The WHOLE POINT was that Jews WEREN'T considered white. Ashkenazim didn't attain whiteness until the ~60s. Did white people find it easier to empathize w/ white faces? 100%. But the former is a dumb guy take

I don't have any real familiarity with Ozark culture, so I gotta ask: I get the sense that Winters Bone movie w/ Jennifer Lawrence did the Ozark equivalent of the Noble Savage trope Like "Yeah they're trash...but they're *honorable* trash" & that shit HAS to feel condescending as hell. Am I right?

Who with any power has encouraged this
The roots of our modern dating crisis run far deeper than iPhones, hookups, and dating apps. Young women have been encouraged to see themselves as broadly superior to their male peers, argues New York Times bestselling author Abigail Shrier. The result is an epidemic of loneliness that makes everyone miserable.

I think its cool that an unintended side effect of the ruling class making shit so expensive is that saving up for a home or retirement now feels so beyond reach for most people that they're like "...then why work myself to death chasing it" and are prioritizing life outside of work more
