It is actually bad for Palestinians that Hamas disrupted Israeli-Arab normalization, and the way you can tell is that Hamas, who does not actually give a shit about Palestinians, launched the 10/7 attack specifically to do so and thereby retain power over Palestinians. It is tragedy compounded!

A conflict going from low to high intensity is significant. The line between “peace with sporadic violence” and “low intensity war” is mostly arbitrary. What’s important is you can’t explain what happened to Gaza without recognizing the discontinuity of 10/7. Had it failed or not happened, etc.

This doesn’t bear scrutiny. The status quo was not peaceful, but 10/7 was a sharp discontinuity from the level of violence. Even looking extremely broadly, we’re talking about the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. That discontinuity matters!

Given that people want larger cars, if there’s no allowance, we’d have a situation where ICE vehicles are cheaper by size. If it comes down to it, I think more smaller EVs vs more larger ICEs is preferable, even if they both have the same mass.

As an American kid who read a lot of British books I was so confused by mincemeat pies because I knew the Brits called ground meat "mincemeat" so when people hand "mincemeat pies" at Christmas obviously they were having ground beef pies and what do you mean "mincemeat pies" have no meat in them.
