My own take is actually that this is the kind of specific question a political party doesn't actually need to weigh in on. Like just as a matter of practicality.

I do forget about Bluesky, and I shouldn't. So... who wants to see some WW2 maps, and hear about the mapmakers? This is a favourite of mine. Prome, Sandoway, Thayetmyo - 85: J9 - some of the Survey of India's fine work in Burma, published in (not updated since) 1929. Come on, isn't this awesome?!

what creates this horror is not Jews or Judaism, that's just the causus belli. it's the logic and necessity of a world that died in the colonial independence movements of the 1950s and 1960s, except for one stubborn hanger-on that survived into the digital age.

Ok look the Conservatives might be third in the polls and all that so you might think they have other priorities but fully support diverting all the HQ’s resources in whatever this is.

1984 is about how England in 1947 is an authoritarian shit-hole. The Handmaid’s Tale is about how the reactionary right in 1980s America is rolling back women’s rights because second wave feminism failed. The Hunger Games is just a parody of Survivor.

Not exactly a Daniel Sugarman fan, but this is correct. I have Jewish acquaintances on the far-left of Labour – as pro-Palestinian as they come – who belong to the Movement for Progressive Judaism which is definitionally Zionist because it advocates a two-state solution.

I am not very worried about about the Tory Tapestry’s misuse of “doth”. What worries me much more is this sequence of panels which seems to show a small boat full of brown-skinned people followed by a plague of rats running riot and then a lot of dead white people labelled tax payers.
Detail from Conservative Party mock Bayeux Tapestry showing 1. A boat full of brown skinned people. 2. Enormous rats chasing cats. 3. White-skinned “tax payers” dead in the streets.

The thing that truly rankles me is they proved that they CAN do a good gimmick episode. The Lower Decks crossover is proof that when they TRY they can make it fun. But they never TRIED to be that creative again- and unfortunately that meant also giving up on the interesting setups they HAD done too

Thing is I sort of agree and sort of don't agree with Jay. He's absolutely right to say the genre breaking gimmick episode is impossible to get right (and that imo MASH is the only show to land it more than not) but the problem with a lot of SNW is it was...only ever going where it was meant to go.

I actually find the opening to this the most fascinatingly unhinged moment "why are the English the only group of people on the Earth who can't define themselves," is an argument that just does not hold up to a second's thought? Is Kylian Mbappe not French because his dad was Cameroonian?

the idea that the nazis were trying to do in eastern europe what, say, the british did in southern africa, only on a drastically sped-up timeframe, obviously has some merit re: the nazis' other targets, but it categorically fails to deal with their judenhass, which did operate on a different logic.
