Well, yes; I blogged about how this company failed my sniff test back in *2019* after they showed up at a startup pitching event run by, & their product was duly effusively praised by ... the civilian who at the time was known as Prince Andrew. Do I know how to spot them or what.

I think @heatherburnstech.bsky.social might have some things to say about this (although she’s probably already seen it). And “I told you so” might be one of them. Tl;dr “Child safety” tech that definitely doesn’t do what it claims to do. At all.

@georgeaye.bsky.social opening #sdingov is exactly what I needed this morning 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ "The cost of speaking up is high. The cost of not speaking up is higher."
George in front of a slide that says:

Four Social Contracts

Epstein Class
White Americans
People of Color
Black Americans

When you are in need, you are offered a conditional promise.
Perform the right values. Achieve the right credentials.
Don't make demands as a group.
Don't seek solidarity with other groups.
The contract may honor you, but the terms can be changed when you no longer prove useful.

On my way to Edinburgh for #SDinGov Journey not nearly as epic as @martinjordan.com’s, am currently on train 2 (of 3) after short walk and bus ride. Somehow “change at Stafford” doesn’t sound quite as exciting as “change at Cologne”, though.

Visited Friends House opposite Euston Station today to have lunch with a friend. I’m not a Quaker but have always enjoyed the welcoming feel, reasonably-priced veggie food and good coffee. Noticed some improvements, of which this trans-friendly notice is my favourite.
Notice outside some toilets

These toilets are trans inclusive. This area has toilet cubicles, a shared handwashing area. On floor 2 there is an area with self-contained cubicles, each with a separate toilet, basin and hand-dryer. Friends House.

In today’s episode of #FixTheForms, I am again infuriated by the ableist assumptions behind this question, which are: - the only reason for contacting a GP is a new(ish) symptom - we haven’t yet been told what the problem is … Hopeless for those who are managing long term conditions/recovery
Heading: I need medical advice
Box: enter the main symptom you need In advice for (200 characters)
Put in your main symptom, not what you think the problem is. Then read with care to choose the best option for your needs.

This is a great, thoughtful, long read from @bm.wel.by about the location of “digital” in UK government. (I’m still of the view that minsters think that they “did digital” in the 2010s and that if they now consider it at all then it’s as historic)

As many of us wonder what’s happening with what used to be GDS, the “they forgot it existed” explanation is the most plausible one for me. Ministers now focus on “give lots of money to AI techbros”. “Digital” has the same level of attention as basket weaving - nice but historic. #GovDesign
