Yeah, this generally would be much easier to take in good faith if we couldn't see all the shit "antizionists" post on the internet.

You could replace Biden with anyone you can think of and they aren’t going to be able to fundamentally restructure the judiciary with the narrowest legislative majority in American history. Biden would have preferred larger majorities! He’s a New Deal guy!

We all want to pretend that socialists in office aren't just as terrified of the NYPD and the real estate lobby as their liberal colleagues, but they are! That's to be expected under capitalism.

But we don't have to rewrite motivated compromises w/ capital "socialist politics."

That just does not reflect reality one bit. The DNC is jazzed af about AES, they won't stop giving his campaign money and assistance. Did Haley Stevens run attack ads? Very probably! They were in a tight primary race! But she was maybe the first Dem to put all her *unconditional* support behind him.

The thing about Ben Collins is that he clearly views himself as a political actor. He came out of political journalism, he has no relevant comedy experience, his partner also came out of political journalism and ran for Congress. So we should view his actions primarily through a political lens.

the handful of people in govt who care about this are very very very lazy, think poasting is reality, and know it's a lot of effort for little return at this point DHS isn't even doing the "make citizens who they don't like lives unnecessarily difficult for no reason" thing at the border anymore

Anyways, we could've solved politics with one good successful prosecution and a socialist president. Bernie would've succeeded where Biden failed. Now to take a big sip of caipirinha and check the first round election results from Brazil.

There basically isn’t a federal judge who would have allowed “skipping the inconvenient parts,” there isn’t a circuit that would have upheld them on the inevitable appeal, and then there’s the Supreme Court The only way the conviction was happening was through formal perfection, if at all

“If Garland and Smith had rushed the most legally and politically complex criminal trial in American history even more than they did it was a silver bullet against authoritarianism” is something you need to argue not assume What if the judge throws the indictment out because they fucked it up?

Two things: 1. He sort of famously failed to overthrow the government, hence the indictments 2. “Biden should simply have skipped the inconvenient parts of criminal procedure” is a dumb take both because Biden (and Trump!) couldn’t do that and because it would be very bad if they could

Hosting parties is easy: Text your friends that you are having a party. Go to trader Joe’s and buy all the silly snacks that look good. Get some drinks. Put the food and drink out. Play some music. Introduce strangers to each other. When you want people to leave, start cleaning up. Done!

Our economic recovery hasn't been felt equally. Low-income jobs were lost much more rapidly and have been much slower to come back. I am against RR Measure to increase the sales tax to fund CalTrain operations. I'm voting no on RR to protect our small businesses and working people, and ease their burden. If public transit is a public good, let's leverage local resources and legislative power to approach state and federal funding sources from a regional approach.

But things that involve interfacing with code are never, ever going back to the modal default being a human being typing things out, like it’s just full stop not happening

A lot of people like sprawl. While we should not subsidize it like we do today, I believe that people should be allowed to have what they want and are willing to pay for. (Most people won’t be willing to pay the actual cost of insuring a house in the woods in the time of climate change wildfires.)

That's part of my complaint with this whole thing. This is great and all and we're embracing the warrior ethos and whatever. Fight a war with what? We have zero (0) carriers in the Pacific now. What are you gonna do? Command the tide to hold the PLAN back? Fly combat air patrols with seagulls?
