For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing

Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

But if I spoke to the American people, and if I got a fair press on, which I never would, I would like to have data centers. It doesn't mean I want them right next to my house, but certainly I like them in my county. They show a data center, and I go up right next to a guy's house, and I wouldn't necessarily like that.

I should note: the debate over Trump's decision to end the "sensitive locations" policy is arguably one of the biggest religion stories of his 2nd term, involving dozens of faith orgs/denominations in 4 separate lawsuits. Over and over, it has directly pitted the admin against religious leaders.

I got back home a bit ago from Tennessee's execution of Christa Pike. We sat in the witness room for nearly 2 and a half hours as she received two rounds of pentobarbital. She was taken away in an ambulance shortly after that and I can't say for sure if she is dead or alive at this moment.

I’m not as opposed to the death penalty as some are on here but I am totally opposed to lethal injection as it is currently practiced in the United States. It’s really not hard to kill someone chemically and medicalizing execution just creates problems and prolongs suffering.
