I'm a little sceptical of this. Apps have centralized servers, not millions of little servers for localities. It is hard to see how an area having a lot of activity (assuming that the premise is correct) would crash Grindr in Dallas, and only Dallas.

Well, we've our 3rd major heatwave since may, temperatures of 41/42⁰C by day, 22⁰ by night, drinking water shortages, small rivers running dry, the main river too hot to cool the nuclear plant, and the highest wildfire risk possible, I'd say things are climate breakdown.
