"What if some people deserve it?" is a stumbling block in the argument for many. Easy to undermine or circumvent altogether: how many innocent people would you kill in order to keep killing the people you "know" are guilty? Because there is no system that doesnt torture and kill innocent people.

#hobbystreak Day 2229: tried using washes to vary the bricks but with limited success. Mixed up a lighter version of the base colour and a red version and those worked much better. Lighter version is perhaps a bit too weak. Might try another couple of mixes to properly vary it up

#hobbystreak Day 2228: locked in and painted all the bricks on the building twice. Some of them might need a little touching up and I'll probably do some spot washes to make them less uniform

#hobbystreakbDay 2227: sleepy and botched a few attempts at painting a basecoat while leaving the shade showing. This is the one I'm least unhappy with. Gonna focus on this since I tend to be happier with my work once it's all done up

Genuinely, this completely rules
-Recently, the game has been going viral on X for its beautiful undressing animations. I’ve even read in one of your previous interviews that the development team practiced stripping themselves as reference for the undressing animations. What was the process behind making the animations actually like?

Matsui:

I’d love to know how far that story has spread. It’s true.

First, we write a plot for each undressing scene, then draw storyboards, exactly as the original team did. Then the real work begins, because the animation is essentially all keyed by hand. A designer moves the clothing’s 3D model, frame by frame, manually. It really is pretty much like the claymation method I mentioned.

We did try automating it with physics simulation first, but it was a total failure. The cloth moved in a physically correct way, but had absolutely no allure. We learned a profound lesson: accuracy and sensuality are two unrelated properties. In the end, we accepted that humans would have to do all of it.

Then VR adds its own weight. In a normal game, if something becomes awkward, you can cut away or swap models between scenes. In VR, the player can look from any angle at any time, so none of those tricks are available. The same model has to undress convincingly no matter where you’re standing. When I described this to a designer at another studio, he said, “I would never do that.” I’ve chosen to take it as a compliment. And then, yes, the part you’ve read about. The undressing motions themselves use motion capture, but the deeper problem was that nobody actually knew the correct rhythm and order in which a person takes off clothes. So, the directors gathered and undressed themselves as reference. “That zipper is coming down too fast.” “She’d pause once before slipping her shoulder out.” These were serious, sober discussions. For compliance reasons, the Super Real Mahjong Venus Returns team works in a walled-off section of our office – and that was the moment those walls truly earned their keep.

One thing that might or might not be obvious is that making one block "pedestrian only" reduces car traffic over a much larger area. I'm staying in the same neighborhood where I lived a few years ago, and the decrease in motor vehicle traffic is astounding.

I don't love dunking on folks but it's so fucking funny to me that Trump was convicted of 34 felonies 2 years ago, faced no punishment, and went on to win the presidency a second time and journalists are still like, "hmm, I have an inkling that maybe he believes he's above the law for some reason."
Post from NYT reporter Eric Lipton

"What an odd moment in United States history.

A U.S. president is running an overtly political campaign advertisement, right before midterm elections, paid for by the U.S. government.

Trump appears to believe he is immune from any kind of legal limit."

Not a clue. The idea that the Orange Order being allowed to march the route that sparked the unbelievably violent Drumcree standoff, 28 years after the peace agreement, is "lowering tension" is an idea based in complete cultural incompetence.

Exactly. The best predictor of an organised anti trans movement happening is if gay marriage is legalised. Here in Australia one anti gay marriage org immediately changed to an anti trans one.

#hobbystreak Day 2222: painted the small rocks in the water a little, applied varnish to all the water and then attacked the top of the large rock with a sculpting tool to make it far less flat and dull. Added some texture paste to it to make it look a little more rough and rocky
An oval base with stormy green seas and purple gray rocks. There are two small rocky areas in the bottom left, nearly covered by the green waves. The large purple grey rock on the right has a brownish tint on top with small patches of paler purple ground with little bits in. It has some small cracks showing the green foam underneath

#hobbystreak Day 2221: first layer of varnish on the lower sections of the water to bulk them up a bit, also used some filler to make rocks where there were waves breaking over nothing. Think I might not use this base for my exocrine because I like it too much to have it hidden by a big bulky model!
A base with several large purple grey rocks, dominated by large green waves. The lower, flatter section, predominantly on the left side, is a dark green while the more stormy right hand side is a pale green, white at the tips of waves. There are two small clumps of white filler on the base too
