A fungus photo a day: every stage of bird’s nest fungi/Nidulariaceae on the end of one stick, from tiny nub, to the “nest” covered with a lid, to the lid popping open to reveal the peridioles or “eggs.” Taken last February. #fungifriends #fungi #mycology #naturephotography

One of the most incredible photos I have ever been sent, courtesy of Chloë James of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust Seagrass Restoration Team. Yep, that's Philodromus margaritatus...under seawater using...an air bubble to breathe and move about. I am utterly speechless!! @britishspiders.bsky.social

From the archives, a Sonoran Coachwhip (Masticophis flagellum cingulum). Observed in southern Sonora, Mexico in 2017. These daytime hunters pursue a wide variety of prey items including lizards, birds, rodents, grasshoppers, and other snakes.  #herps #snakes #NaturePhotography 🌿
Side image of a snake coiled on sandy soil, head facing left. The snake's body color from nose to tail tip is a pinkish red. The skin between the scales is white, which highlights each scale, and gives the snake an appearance similar to a braided whip. The sides of the face are concave, providing the eyes with more forward vision. The scales above the eyes are enlarged, providing a bit of solar protect to the eyes. The pupils are round, which is typical for snakes that are active during the day.

The continuing dry weather means that fungi are still rather sparse, but good to find a fresh group of Lurid Bolete yesterday, associated with Small-leaved Lime at Collyweston Great Wood NNR. Not uncommon in our local woods, but nearly always slug-eaten or rotten when I find it! #fungifriends

As an indie author it's hellish trying to promote myself as I'm pants at it. I'm proud of JOCKULA, though, so please consider reposting this so more fans of horror comedy fiction can be made aware of the book. Thank you.🙏
Promo image for the book JOCKULA. Includes reviews:

"Jockula delivers laugh-out-loud horror with a scottish soul and an unexpectedly tender heart... the funniest vampire novel to come out of Scotland since... well, ever." - Ginger Nuts of Horror.

"Having always been fascinated by vampire lore, this is a fun addition with original ideas... a nice breezy pace, has a great style, and Ramage certainly knows her pop culture references." - Amazon Review.

"Jack Rushton is instantly likeable: foul-mouthed, funny, self-pitying, loyal, and far more human than he wants to admit." - Amazon Review.
