Another plant fungus noted recently was this on Chenopodium album. I've not figured out what it is yet (Cercospora or Passalora dubia perhaps?)

Whilst walking into the city today I noticed a Dandelion with swellings in the flower-stem. These galls turned out to be fungal, with the causer presumably Protomyces pachydermus.
A section of green Dandelion flower stalk, showing several swellings, one of which has started turning purple.A section through one of the galls, showing that there is no cavity inside. Some round fungal cells alongst the gall structures.A close-up of some of the round fungal cells.

Sadly there was a climate & nature shaped hole at the heart of Burnham’s speech. Nothing on the benefits of nature restoration & same old words on a “pragmatic” approach to N Sea drilling. There’s nothing pragmatic about pouring fuel on a scorching earth - he should rule out Rosebank & Jackdaw now

A random find under pines along a Norwich street yesterday, Weeping Boletes, Suillus granulatus. When fresh the caps emit water droplets (hence the name), but these then darken as they dry, giving the flecked look to the stipe visible here.
A side view of two boletes on a background of pine debris. The pores are a rusty yellow-brown, and the stipe is whote with dark flecks.
