I'm very tired of people pretending to be shocked. How could Graham Platner turn out so bad? Well, he had a Nazi tattoo. How could Trump turn out so bad? Well, he led an insurrection. You can't make people see what they won't see.

The most ordinary man imaginable came to my home state to tell me to ‘get out of America’ while he & Absent Ashley enjoyed the comfort of buildings my ancestors helped build. Imagine standing on the shoulders of the ppl who built this country & then telling their descendants they don’t belong here/2

I used to think (like 10 years ago) that there was some line they’d cross where the political press would start talking about their racism as a matter of fact, not opinion. But there was no line. I still can’t believe it.

DOJ has charged Wilber Garcés with felony assaulting, resisting, or impeding a federal officer, based on the allegation he struck an ICE officer with his sideview mirror when driving off after the initial traffic stop. He was then chased for 8 minutes, rammed, and then shot.
Image 1: the agent is standing in front of the driver’s side mirror, with the mirror at waist height.Image 2: the agent now has has hands on the car as it starts to move. The mirror appears to be very slightly in contact with his waist.Image 3: the agent has pulled his hips back and the mirror is no longer touching the agent.

The GOP is an opposition party even when it's in power, the idea that they are the perpetual underdog is central to their internal mythology and can't be disturbed by facts or the results of elections. It's also why they're bad at, you know, governing.
