Elad Nehorai @eladn.bsky.social · 06/09/2025The reason many of the commentators don’t like Bluesky is because the infrastructure is set up in a way that no longer benefits them. On Twitter it was always easier to gain an audience by purposefully saying things that upset people. Getting ratio-ed was a tactic. Here, that’s much harder. 1186488965
Lile @lilelile.bsky.social · 06/09/2025My posts on x went from 2k+ likes per post to zero, overnight. And links to delete the account disappeared at the same time. 000
Roookii @roookii.bsky.social · 06/09/2025There's other reasons to not like Bluesky but not sure these reasons are any better anywhere else. #1 - people like me get no response when we post a solo comment but get comments if we post on someone else's posts. #2 - getting hold of someone at Bluesky to ask them why that happens. 320
Ian Moone @seanhanson99.bsky.social · 06/09/2025I don’t like Bluesky because I can’t game the algo architecture for rage engagement farming 000

NutMeg @casuallychaotic.bsky.social · 07/09/2025Here, that kind of behavior just leads to mass blocking and ostracization from the majority of the community. We have no problem with them being here, we just won't be listening or responding to anything they say. 030
Bluesky's Korenji @thekorenji.bsky.social · 06/09/2025I recently found out you can block words altogether, so I blacklisted a bunch of words used in politic discourses (I'm sorry Donkey Kong Country, if I could make an exception I would, but I'm not risking it 🥀) 010
Caravelle @caravellin.bsky.social · 09/09/2025That's a good point. It's why I left Twitter actually - I love internet arguments so while I know trolls exist I usually don't worry about the possibility because I think addressing them still has value... But even I couldn't maintain that stance when bluechecks made it a *direct monetary benefit* 000

Big Steve @yehtiweelz.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Writing my outrage and spitting venom at the festering and vomitous collection of criminal traitors and biased judges, and any other phukkin assholian dooshbagz that not only feel the same way as he does, but vote with him to carry out his agenda. 000
Big Steve @yehtiweelz.bsky.social · 06/09/2025I believe that this media outlet is the perfect place to prove to this country and the world, that we do not like this thinskinned orange piece of shit, and those that helped him get back to the office of the president. Elad Nehorai @eladn.bsky.social · 06/09/2025These guys built their entire careers by getting ratio-ed on Twitter. Singal, Yglesias, and many others would get massive boosts by purposefully saying inflammatory things in a way they knew would lead to massive reactions. This grew their audiences. Not having that destroys their relevance. 3891104
Josephine Robertson @josephinerobertson.com · 06/09/2025Yeah all the reasons "big content creators" hate it are why I like it! So easy to keep it a curated conversation. 080

Vitonha @vitonha.bsky.social · 09/09/2025Here we don't ratio, we offend hard. Mothers, fathers, ugly faces, stupid brains, nothing escape. If something stupid is said, being called stupid will be the lightest reaction. No mercy and no half-words. 000
blues82.bsky.social @blues82.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Their apparent belief that you should be forced to have unpleasant experiences online is so weird to me and would be instantly recognized as insane in any other context. pcrritesgood.bsky.social @pcrritesgood.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Basically twitter (and threads, really) is designed to generate arguments and outrage which leads to engagement and fuels itself. Bluesky is not designed to generate arguments so people who come here and try that think it is not working. It is working fine, actually! 419713
Small World-Big adventure @louise007.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Bluesky is a more functional and healthier environment. Musk permanently suspended me-a blessing in disguise as it brought me here. After repeated appeals, I was never given an explanation, yet he allows some very unsavory characters on X with their abusive and dishonest content. X is a cesspool. 070
isosolies.bsky.social @isosolies.bsky.social · 06/09/2025They get ignored here. It's so much nicer when you actively clean your feed of trolls, racists and fascists. 020

Captain Oblivious @capn0blivious.bsky.social · 06/09/2025A toast to Bluesky: It may not be perfect, but at least viewership isn’t based on some algorithm tilted towards giving fascists and Nazis an outsized audience. 0320
skelettuce @latisserande.bsky.social · 06/09/2025indeedskelettuce@latisserande.bsky.socialyes, because ragebait-cloutchasing isn't effective and profitable on a site that more widely disagrees with bait-taking. If all an inflammatory skeet nets you is 65 "ur dumb"s and +9000 blocks instead of a lasting algorithm bump, it's no longer a cheap and lucrative compensation for their mediocrity 020
The Doodling Dingus @doodling-dingus.bsky.social · 06/09/2025The block feature is a blessing here compared to Muskker. Over there the only real way to block someone is to make your profile "followers only" which means reducing how many possibly awesome people see your posts. 000
We’re all frogs now @grandsoupir.bsky.social · 06/09/2025And don’t forget that the big money guys behind the commentators don’t like decentralization because they can’t control it 020
Kit Connolly @kitforkat.com · 06/09/2025I’d add that on Twitter, certain levels of celebrity and fame gave you additional controls over which notifications you got. Whereas here they can’t reduce the flood of criticism when they get it. 020

Phillip Hallam-Baker @handle.invalid · 06/09/2025Facebook and Twitter are rigged to promote conflict because that keeps people engaged. As they say at FB 'Enragement drives engagement'. It is a deliberate tactic by an utterly immoral group of people. 1140

MKE Homer @homermke.bsky.social · 06/09/2025There are many, many large accounts on here that are still very active on Twitter. This idea that people just abandoned Twitter to live in a bubble is just not true. If anything, they are exposed to an ever wider range of views and opinions. 160
Dark Jaguar @darkjaguar64.bsky.social · 06/09/2025I've got my bluesky set up so I don't even see anything algorithmic. I tend my own news garden. 050

buddythebird @bthebird.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Bluesky discourse is just as campist and polarized, but it's worlds more fact based and logically coherent. I don't know what everyone is complaining about tbh. It's an improvement. 1480

My name is Larn @hypnobun.com · 06/09/2025Let me get this straight. Humans have gone from desiring social interaction with others to feeling obligated to engage with sociopaths that get paid to exaggerate and sensationalize nonsense? Dan Killam @dantheclamman.blog · 06/09/2025I see way more people with a couple thousand followers. With twitter it felt super bimodal: less than a couple hundred or >100,000 020
Andre Kenji de Sousa @andkenbrbr.bsky.social · 06/09/2025Not only that, even before Musk the Twitter would disproportionally favor these large, very online accounts. Will Stancil and Silver would appear on my TL regardless of following them. And that allowed them to make a LOT of money. 010
